The Huber family's three generations have reckoned Hogback Mountain as their abode, celebrating several of the family's most treasured memories on the acreage. With a dedication to Western Loudoun's rich agrarian traditions and hospitality, the Huber family wished to share the estate and its scenic views with the public to enjoy their major life moments and maintain the agricultural beauty of the land.

Before undertaking the industry, wine connoisseurs Kristi and Mike Huber's enthusiasm for quality urged the two to bring in the industry's top consultants to examine the terroir of the manor's 400 acres of land and to identify if world-class wine production would be feasible on the territory. From there, Kristi and Mike started their mission of enhancing the lives of the community via sharing exceptional hospitality and premier estate-grown wines' experiences.

The world's greatest wines have one thing in common: emphasis on the terroir that originates the world-class wines. Vineyards are the beginning of great winemaking and with the trials posed by the climate of Virginia, mountain vineyard areas have shown to be resilient to the humidity and high rainfall of the region thanks to the improved airflow, well-drained soils, and undulating topography. With the estate vines of Stone Tower Winery situated on Hogback Mountain, the distinctive meso-climate of the vineyard includes all three of the mentioned characteristics. Stone Tower Winery has been cultivating its vineyards since 2009 to craft exceptional quality wines.

The winery focus on standard French varietals of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon - yet the vineyard's soils and varying aspects also allow the winery an opportunity to indulge with smaller lots of Rhone, Viognier, Pinot Noir, and Nebbiolo white varietals.
